WEST HARTFORD — The New Children’s Museum is looking to move to UConn’s West Hartford campus.
In November, UConn Board of Trustees voted to sell the West Hartford campus as it prepares to move to downtown Hartford. UConn plans to vacate the West Hartford campus in Fall 2017. The property covers 58 acres and is one of the last of the larger properties available for development in town.
On January 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., The New Children’s Museum will be offering a presentation and public discussions on their proposed plans to move to the campus.
Michael Werle, the Museum’s Interim Executive Director, will provide more details along with drawings for potential concepts. His presentation will be followed by an open discussion and a Q&A session. The plans will also focus on creating a family friendly cultural campus, driving local economic development, and preserving green space. Local residents are encouraged to attend this free and public event. It will take place at the West Hartford Senior Center at Bishops Corner.
