Capulet Fest changes location at the last second. Here's how music fans reacted

It was originally supposed to be held at the Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Capulet Music Fest was supposed to be held in Thompson this weekend but with a change of venue, the heavy metal community found themselves at The Webster in Hartford.

Metal fans from around the area came to bang their heads to their favorite artists at the Webster in Hartford.

"Everyone should be very thankful for this," said Mobsta, a friend of the owners of Webster. "They saved the day for an important festival to go down."

Capulet posted on social media Thursday that they were moving their music fest from Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson to the theater on Webster Street in Hartford.

The Speedway also turned to social media to respond to the venue change, confirming it would no longer be held in Thompson and that they were affiliated with Capulet Entertainment.

FOX61 asked to talk with the organizer of the event - to which they said they had "no comment."

Concert goer, Cody Timpone, was disappointed in a few of the bands dropping out but was happy to see the ones performing.

"We are happy the concert is playing here because of the venue change and it's a really good venue and we are happy to be here," Timpone said.

The passes for the music fest are sold out but there are still some general admission tickets for the rest of the weekend.

This is one of the many events happening in Hartford this weekend. Capitol Groove will be at Bushnell Park, while the Yard Goats will face the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Dunkin' Park on Saturday and Sunday. Janet Jackson & Nelly will be at the Xfinity Theatre on Saturday and "Love Your Block will be happening in the area of 3200 Main Street on Sunday. Those visiting the capital city are encouraged to arrive early and explore what Hartford has to offer.
