CONNECTICUT, USA — Welcome to the first weekend of October! We're well into autumn at this point and there are plenty of things to check out this weekend to get you into that festive fall mood. It'll be a nice weekend so get out there and enjoy it!

'Shop for a Cause' Friday evening in Berlin! This event, hosted by The Color Platform, is in its third year and will help promote local businesses while benefiting a great cause. The event donates money generated to The Prudence Crandall Center while spreading awareness and prevention of domestic violence. There will be many vendors spread across three businesses (The Color Platform, Provision State Coffee, and Fitness by Design) where you can enjoy food, drinks, and shop shop shop! The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 848 Farmington Avenue in Berlin.

It's that time of year again when the Southington Apple Harvest Festival transforms downtown Southington into a fall festival of fritters and fun! The six-day event will take place this weekend and next and will be one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the Northeast! Visitors can enjoy a jam-packed schedule of events, entertainment, activities, specialty food, crafts, and fun for all ages.

Team Jess? Dean? Logan? Hartford Prints is turning Pratt Street into Stars Hollow for a day! Shop from Gilmore Girls-themed vendors, dress up as your favorite character, and play trivia to win prizes! Grab a coffee at Luke's and say hi to Miss Patty while you try to dodge Taylor and Kirk's newest schemes. The Stars Hollow Saturday event will occur from noon to 4 p.m.

'Hadestown' is coming to town! This Tony Award-winning musical is coming to The Palace Theater this weekend with multiple shows you can catch! This story intertwines two mythic tales, that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone. It's a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go!

It's October, which means Oktoberfest! Head to Power Ridge Mountain in Middlefield this weekend for their Oktoberfest Celebration! There will be beer, wine, and cider samplings, a live band, a free keg toss, and stein-holding competitions with prizes! There will also be food stations and a craft market. If you add their Haunting at The Ridge event to your tickets during purchase, you can receive a discount. The event will be held on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Do dinosaurs celebrate Halloween? Well, head to the Dinosaur Place at Nature's Art for their 6th Annual Pumpkin Passage event to get prehistoric in the park! This is a trail of lights, dinosaurs, and pumpkins that's toddler-friendly and only 20 minutes from Mystic. There will also be bounce houses available, an inflatable corn maze, axe throwing, a Jurassic jungle, and more! There will also be a trick-or-treat night on Oct. 27. This event runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 27.

All aboard the Pumpkin Patch Trolley! Bring the whole family down to the shoreline trolley museum for a fun-filled fall adventure during the weekends in October. You can take a scenic trolley ride to their pumpkin patch, pick your perfect sugar pumpkin to take home, and enjoy seasonal activities and fall-themed fun for all ages! It's a magical autumn day your family won't forget.
