WALLINGFORD, Conn. — Smoke Rules, a smoke shop on Church Street in Wallingford, was burglarized early Friday morning, according to Wallingford police.
Police responded to the location for a burglar alarm around 3:31 a.m. and observed the front door smashed and shattered glass on the ground upon arrival, police said.
After reviewing surveillance footage, police observed three suspects in black hooded sweatshirts and masks smash the front door and make entry to the shop at 3:20 a.m. Police said that one of the suspects who was wearing gloves jumped over the counter and stole $800 from a cash register drawer.
According to police, the other two suspects were not wearing gloves and guarded the front door. After being in the shop for only a brief period, the suspects exited Smoke Rules through the broken front door at 3:21 a.m. and were gone before the police arrived.
Police said Friday evening that the suspects remain at large. They ask that anyone with any information relevant to the investigation contact the department at 203-294-2800 or reach out online here.
