HARTFORD, Conn. — A Danbury man pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court on Thursday to production of child pornography, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Court documents and statements revealed that 33-year-old Enrique Paulo Pucha-Jimenez sexually abused a minor girl between November 2020 and August 2023. Prosecutors said the girl was between the approximate ages of nine and 12.
According to the release, Pucha-Jimenez used his cell phone to take photographs and videos of his sexual abuse of the victim.
Pucha-Jimenez was arrested by Danbury police on Aug. 16, 2023, on state sexual assault and risk of injury offenses and has been detained since his arrest. He is scheduled to be sentenced by a U.S. District Judge in New Haven on Oct. 24, prosecutors said. Pucha-Jimenz faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years.
According to prosecutors, Pucha-Jimenez’s state charges are pending.
The case has been investigated by the FBI and the Danbury Police Department. The prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative, which endeavors to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
