Hartford police investigating homicide

The incident happened on Sharon Street.

HARTFORD, Conn. — An apparent homicide is under investigation in Hartford on Tuesday.

Lt. Aaron Boisvert confirmed that law enforcement launched an investigation after an unspecified incident in the area of 15 Sharon Street just after 12 p.m.

Police received a phone call from a concerned citizen around 11:30 a.m. after finding Jaleel Alexis Woolery, 32, of Hartford down in the roadway. Responding officers found Woolery unresponsive with multiple puncture wounds.

Boisvert said it did not appear to be a shooting and believed it was a stabbing. He said Woolery is believed to have been working on a vehicle at the time of the incident.

Police had taped off a large portion of the street as they conducted the investigation.
