A 36-year-old Hartford man was arrested Thursday for the murder of a 52-year-old East Hartford man in the capital city last year, police announced.
Byron Williams was arrested and charged with murder for the stabbing death of Kendall Jones on Nov. 4, 2023.
On the day of the murder, Hartford police officers and EMS first responders were dispatched to Saint Francis Hospital after it was reported that a man was unconscious inside a vehicle near the emergency room entrance.
The victim, later identified as Jones, had multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital after life-saving measures were attempted.
Police said the initial incident happened on Albany Avenue. It was not immediately clear what led to the stabbing.
On Thursday, Williams was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit. He was charged with murder and held on a $1 million bond.
