NORWALK, Conn. — Last Saturday, a 16-year-old shot a 15-year-old in Norwalk’s Roodner Court Public Housing Complex, according to a release from the city’s police department on Wednesday.
Around 6:54 p.m. on July 13, Norwalk police received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the housing complex at 261 Ely Avenue, the release said. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 15-year-old had been taken to Norwalk Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Norwalk detectives began investigating and “gathered enough evidence to charge a 16-year-old juvenile with the shooting,” police said.
The teenage shooter was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal discharge of a firearm. The teen was remanded to Juvenile Detention, police said.
The case is active and ongoing, according to police. Anyone with any pertinent information can call the Norwich Police Tip Line at 203-854-3111 or send a tip online here.
