The nationally renowned comedian will appear in Manchester on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14.

MANCHESTER, Conn. — Notorious for his quick wit, charisma and aggressive comedic style, comedian Aries Spears has performed all throughout the country; next month, he will return to Connecticut.

Spears is set to take the stage at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in the Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester on the evenings of Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14. More information on the show, including times and ticket information, can be found here.

Born in Chicago and raised in New York, Spears embarked on his career when he was 14 years old. He rose to fame as a regular on FOX’s “Mad TV,” has starred in feature films and appeared on numerous national talk shows, all while touring the United States.

As a principal cast member on “Mad TV” from season three through season 10, Spears brought to life a variety of hilarious characters, performing many sketches over the course of eight seasons.

Perhaps Spears is best known for his uncanny celebrity impressions. He has assumed the roles of athletes such as Mike Tyson and Shaquille O’Neal while also emulating musicians like Michael Jackson and Sisqó. He has even performed stand-up while portraying legends such as James Brown, Al Pacino and Eddie Murphy, his childhood idol.

At the age of 17, Spears was spotted in a comedy club and landed a part in the movie “Home of Angels,” which led to him being featured in movies such as “The Pest” and “Jerry Maguire.”

Spears’ bio says he maintains a strong connection to his African roots and is involved in a broad range of charitable events, including supporting several organizations that help abused women.

“He feels blessed to have been able to achieve everything that he has, but he in no way intends on stopping there,” Spears’ bio reads. “Given the extreme growing success rate of action comedies coming out of Hollywood, it’s safe to say that Aries Spears will be in demand for quite some time.”
