State police make arrests in drug sale at CT Fastrak Bus Station

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Connecticut State Police arrested multiple people at the New Britain Fastrak Bus Station after a narcotics sale investigation. 

On Jan 12, at around 9:00 a.m., troopers conducted surveillance in the area and noticed activities consistent with hand-to-hand drug transactions taking place, said police. 

The troopers’ observations, including suspect descriptions, were relayed to nearby detectives and troopers who met in the area of the bus station and detained three people who were observed conducting drug transactions, said police. 

According to police, other unidentified people observed to be involved in the suspected transactions entered a CT Fastrak bus and attempted to hide narcotics on the bus.

CT State Police K-9 General was able to locate hidden drugs underneath seats on the bus, said police. As a result, detectives were able to seize 16 bundles of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 17 oxycodone pills, narcotics paraphernalia, and over $400.00 in cash from the sale of the drugs.

Sammy Lee Trimmier, 40, of Hartford was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics substance, conspiracy to commit sale of narcotics substance, possession of a controlled substance, and violations of conditions of release in the first degree. 

Christopher Hicks, 20, of Hartford was arrested and charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit sale of narcotic substance and conspiracy to commit violations of conditions of release.

Christain Ruben Garcia, 28, of East Hartford, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to commit sale of narcotic substance.   

Each of the individuals listed above were held on $100,000 cash/surety bonds, pending their scheduled arraignments at New Britain Superior Court on Jan. 16.
