Car crashes into apartment complex in Wallingford

The driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital for evaluation of suspected minor injuries.

WALLINGFORD, Conn — A car crashed into a Wallingford apartment complex on Tuesday night, according to police. 

At around 8:57 p.m., police responded to the area of South Elm Street for a car that crashed into a building. When officers arrived they discovered that a gray 2016 Kia Optima crashed into the front side of the apartment complex damaging the building, said police.  

The driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital for evaluation of suspected minor injuries. No other injuries were reported at this time.

According to police, the Kia was traveling westbound on Wharton Brook Drive approaching the intersection with South Elm Street when it continued straight across the road and into the apartment complex at South Elm Street.

No arrest was made at the scene.  Police continue to investigate the crash.
