Car strikes telephone pole in Ansonia

ANSONIA, Conn. — Early Saturday morning, the Ansonia Fire Department was alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Wakelee Avenue.

At around 1 a.m., crews found that a car hit a telephone pole. 

According to officials, due to the severity of the accident, a tow truck was called to help stabilize the vehicle so EMS could remove the driver and transport them to a nearby hospital. 

There is currently no word on the person's condition.
