2024 summer and fall fairs, festivals in Connecticut

Fair season is starting up in Connecticut! Here's a list of what's going on in your neck of the woods.

CONNECTICUT, USA — As we head into late summer and into the fall, Connecticut's fair season is beginning to stir! From Lebanon to Norwalk, Berlin to Bridgwater, here are fairs and festivals happening in your neck of the woods in the coming months!

JULY

Lebanon

The Lebanon Country Fair will be held from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, July 28, at the Lebanon Fairgrounds, 122 Mack Road. 

Friday's hours will be 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Parking is $5 per vehicle on the grounds. Free parking and shuttles will be provided on Friday and Saturday from Lyman Memorial High School, located at 917 Exeter Road.

AUGUST

Wolcott

The Wolcott Country Fair will be held from Friday, August 9, to Sunday, August 11, at the Wolcott Fairgrounds, located at 245 Wolcott Road. 

Friday, the hours will be from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday, the hours will be 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday, the hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Parking on-site will be $10 a vehicle. Shuttle parking with bus drop-offs will be available at the Woodtick Recreation Center, located at 210 Nichols Road, at $5 a vehicle.

Bridgewater

The 71st Annual Bridgewater Country Fair will take place from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18 at the Bridgewater Fairgrounds, located at 100 Main Street South. 

Friday's hours will be from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Fair will occur from Thursday, August 22, to Sunday, August 25, at the Brooklyn Fairgrounds, located at 15 Fairgrounds Road, just off Route 169. 

Thursday's hours will be from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Friday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Parking in the fair's lots will be $7 per vehicle. Handicap-accessible parking is located in Miller's Lot on Fairgrounds Road and in the East Lot on Route 169.

Plainville

The 2024 Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held on at Norton Park on Friday, August 23, and Saturday, August 24. 

Shuttle parking is available at Roberston Airport, located at 62 Johnson Avenue. 

The festival, as the name suggests, will offer an array of hot-air balloon displays and rides. This is a fundraising event held by the Plainville Fire Department to help them with student scholarships.

Chester

The Chester Fair will take place from Friday, August 23, to Sunday, August 25, at the Chester Fairgrounds, located on Kirtland Terrace off of Route 154. 

Friday's hours will be from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

The fair will feature a new ride company, Marenna Amusements, and all-day ride bracelets on Saturday and Sunday for $35. Learn more about the fair and see the schedule of events here.

Terryville

The 76th Annual Terryville Lions Country Fair will be held from Friday, August 23, to Sunday, August 25, at the Terryville Fairgrounds, located at 171 Town Hill Road. 

Friday's hours will be from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Ride bracelets are available Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at $30 per person per day. Learn more about the fair and see a schedule of events here.

Woodstock

The 163rd Annual Woodstock Fair will take place Friday, August 30 to Monday, September 2, Labor Day Weekend. The fair will take place at the Woodstock Fairgrounds located on Route 169 and 171 in South Woodstock. Organizers say to put the address 281 Route 169, Woodstock, CT, 06281, into your GPS. 

Friday hours will be from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with ticket booths closing and carnival rides and games closing at 11 p.m. 

Saturday and Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with ticket booths closing at 9 p.m. and carnival rides and games closing at 11 p.m. 

Monday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the ticket booths closing and the carnival rides and games closing at 8 p.m. 

The Woodstock Fair does not have on-site parking. Neighbors manage all lots, and pricing is set independently.

Haddam

The Haddam Neck Fair will occur on Labor Day weekend, beginning Friday, August 30, and ending Monday, September 2. The fair is located at 26 Quarry Hill Road, Haddam Neck, 06424. Organizers said you must use East Hampton's ZIP code of 06424, and using Haddam's ZIP code will take you 20 miles away.

Friday's hours will be from 3 p.m. to the final event happening at 6:30 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Monday's hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Goshen

The Goshen Fair will take place from Saturday, August 31, to Monday, September 2, at the Goshen Fairgrounds, located at 116 Old Middle Street. 

Saturday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Monday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Connecticut Renaissance Faire

The Connecticut Renaissance Faire in Lebanon will take place every Saturday and Sunday from August 31 to October 20, plus Labor Day and Indigenous People's Day. 

The hours of the faire will be from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

SEPTEMBER

North Haven

The North Haven Fair will take place Thursday, September 5 to Sunday, September 8 at the North Haven Fairgrounds, located at 290 Washington Avenue. 

Thursday's hours will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Friday's hours will be from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Parking is free at the North Haven Fair. Enter through the main gate at 290 Washington Avenue and you'll be directed to a parking spot.

Hebron

The Hebron Harvest Fair will take place from Thursday, September 5 to Sunday, September 8. The fair is located at 347 Gilead Street. 

Thursday's hours will be from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Friday's hours will be from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

South Windsor

The Wapping Fair will take place from Thursday, September 5 to Sunday, September 8 at 75 Brookfield Street in South Windsor. 

Friday's hours will be from 4 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

There will be parking available on-site as well as shuttle parking locations.

Norwalk

The Norwalk Oyster Festival will occur from Friday, September 6, to Sunday, September 8. The festival will take place at Veteran's Memorial Park at Fort Point Street and Seaview Avenue. 

On Fridays, participants can use shuttle buses at Norwalk Community College and Calf Pasture Beach from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. 

Saturday's shuttle buses will run from Norwalk Community College, Calf Pasture Beach, and Norwalk City Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. 

Sunday's shuttle buses will be from Norwalk Community College, Calf Pasture Beach, and Norwalk City Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

Additional fee parking will be available at Webster Street Parking Lot, Haviland Street Parking Lot, Maritime Aquarium Garage, and Ironworks Garage. All are within walking distance of the festival.

Bethlehem

The Bethlehem Fair will take place from Friday, September 6, to Sunday, September 8, at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds, located at 384 Main Street North. 

Friday's hours will be from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monroe

The St. Peter's Grace Church Apple Festival will take place Saturday, September 7 to Sunday, September 8 at the Monroe Green. 

Saturday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New London

The Maritime Heritage Festival will take place Saturday, September 7 to Sunday, September 8 at Waterfront Park and Fort Trumbull. 

All weekend events will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. 

There will be free transportation from shuttle buses and water taxis.

Berlin

The 75th Berlin Fair will take place Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15 at the Berlin Fairgrounds located at 430 Beckley Road. 

Thursday's hours will be from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Friday's hours will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Guilford

The Guilford Fair will take place from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22 at the Guilford Fairgrounds, located at 111 Lovers Lane. 

Friday's hours will be from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

There will be free parking with a shuttle bus service to the fairgrounds at 1575 Boston Post Road, Guilford, just off of I-95/Exit 57.

Newtown

The Newtown Arts Festival will take place from Friday, September 20, to Sunday, September 22, at Fairfield Hills. 

The event begins Friday with Music Under the Stars from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

The festival on Saturday and Sunday will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

There will be parking available at Fairfield Hills for handicapped vans. Learn more about the event and see a schedule of events here.

Orange

The Orange Country Fair will take place Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22, at the Orange Fairgrounds located at 525 Orange Center Road. 

Saturday's hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Sunday's hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

There will be plenty of free parking according to fair organizers, and there is also a shuttle bus option. Learn more about the fair and admission prices here.

Durham

The 104th Annual Durham Fair will take place from Thursday, September 26 to Sunday, September 29 at the Durham Fairgrounds located at 24 Town House Road. 

Thursday's hours will be 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Friday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Saturday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Sunday's hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

There will be $5 parking in lots operated by the fair, but there is no visitor parking available directly don't he fairgrounds. There will be shuttle buses to take visitors from the lots to the fairgrounds.
