HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police conducted a citywide operation to stop illegal dirt bike and ATV use Saturday, leading to the arrests of nine people.
According to police, they found several groups riding dirt bikes recklessly through the streets of Hartford.
In total, five illegal dirt bikes were seized in addition to the over 100 police have confiscated this year, and nine arrests were made, including an arrest for a stolen firearm, crack-cocaine and fentanyl.
The Hartford Police Community Crime Suppression Team, Community Service Officers, the Hartford Police Property Room, and the Connecticut State Police collaborated on the sting.
Hartford police say they will continue to cracking down on the illegal dirt bike and ATV use in the coming weeks, but noted that they expect fewer incidents as winter approaches.
