PLAINFIELD, Connecticut — A major structure fire in Moosup left six people displaced Sunday, according to Moosup Fire Chief Jeffrey Bellavance. Two cats were noted as missing after the fire.
The Moosup Fire Department said in a Facebook post Sunday morning at 7:08 a.m. that they were battling a fire off of North Main Street at 10 Cottage Street. The Jewett City Fire Department said they were also called to assist.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes to travel.
Bellavance said that no residents or firefighters were hurt from the fire, and that three children and three adults have been displaced.
While multiple dogs made it out safely with the family, Bellavance said two cats were missing.
All six people are being assisted by the Red Cross, according to Bellavance.
