NORWALK, Conn. — Two more individuals have been arrested in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred in Norwalk on the evening of July 13, according to a release from the city’s police department Saturday.
Essence Broome, 33, of Darien, and Latrel Stewart, 24, of Norwalk were both taken into custody on Friday, police said.
Last month, police reported that a 16-year-old shot a 15-year-old in Norwalk’s Roodner Court Public Housing Complex on Ely Avenue on July 13; multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the housing complex on Ely Avenue were received by police around 6:54 p.m.
The 15-year-old shooting victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police said the department’s Detective Bureau took over the investigation and arrested the shooter shortly after.
According to the release, investigators determined other people were also involved, and arrest warrants were acquired for Broome and Stewart, who were both apprehended.
Broome is charged with risk of injury to a child and third-degree trespassing, while Stewart is charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree criminal attempt of assault and third-degree criminal trespass, police said.
According to the investigators, all involved parties have now been arrested.
