BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was killed in Bridgeport Monday evening, according to the city's police department. The man investigators were seeking for questioning was also found dead the next morning.
Police said the city's Emergency Communications Center received a call at 8:11 p.m. about the assault on the 150 block of Seaview Avenue.
Arriving officers found a 27-year-old Bridgeport woman with several injuries lying in the street on Central Avenue just south of the Seaview Ave. intersection.
The victim was pronounced dead on scene, police said. The victim was a mother and lived in the East End of the city, police said.
The Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau is investigating the shooting death. Police believe this was a "violent domestic assault" and that the victim knew her attacker.
Ricardo Robinson, 28, who police were seeking for questioning, died by suicide in Stratford Tuesday morning, according to the town's police department.
There are no outstanding suspects in the woman's death at this time, police said.
There is no threat to the community, according to police.
