Death investigation in Ridgefield home underway, man arrested: Police

Police ask residents to avoid Powderhorn Drive as detectives investigate the death.

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — A man is facing a murder charge after an older man was found dead in a Ridgefield home overnight Saturday, according to police.

Police were called to a home on Powderhorn Drive around 1 a.m. for a report of a domestic incident.

An older man, who has not been identified at this time, was found dead inside the home, police said.

Police took Steven James Uricchio, 31, into custody. He now faces a murder charge and is being held on a $1.5 million bond, police said.

Police said this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. However, police ask residents to avoid the area as detectives investigate.

Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crimes Squad and Ridgefield police are investigating this incident.

Uricchio is set to appear in court Monday.
