WILTON, Conn. — A Wilton man was charged last week with possession of child pornography after police found over 150 video files with what they determined to be child porn.
Eduardo Barajas-Mendoza, 37, of Wilton, was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography in the first degree. He was held on $175,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court last week.
Police said their investigation started in November, 2022, when they received a tip from State Police reporting the distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) may have occurred in Wilton.
A search warrant was issued for an IP address of an address in Wilton and the investigation identified Barajas-Mendoza and Miguel Mendoza.
In February 2023, during a search of his home, numerous items were seized and later forensically examined. During the examination 153 video files were found which consisted of CSAM. The devices were under the control of Eduardo Barajas-Mendoza. Police found that Barajas-Mendoza had been using the identity of Miguel Mendoza as an alias for work purposes.
