BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — Bloomfield police officers helped a woman in labor deliver a baby Tuesday morning, according to the town's police department. An ambulance crew also arrived to take the baby and the mother to the hospital.
Police said that officers were sent to the woman after dispatch received a call that she was in labor and helped her to deliver a healthy baby boy.
According to the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance, the Bloomfield police officers who assisted in the delivery were Ofc. Frank Teixeira, Ofc. Gabriella Boulanger and Sgt. Brendan Danaher.
An ambulance crew, including Aaron Durette, Phil Kopplin, Josh Hall and Carly Rabinovich responded at 10:28 a.m. to provide care and take both the mother and the baby to the hospital, according to the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance.
"Congratulations to all involved on a great job!" the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance wrote in a Facebook post.
