Bristol police identify pedestrian who died after crash

​Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

BRISTOL, Conn. — Bristol police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian from Sunday night, according to the city's police department.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the Bristol Police Department said a vehicle hit a pedestrian at the intersection of the Barnes Highway and Lincoln Avenue at 6 p.m.

The pedestrian, identified as Anthony Fascendini of Plainville, was brought to a local hospital where he later died, according to police.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Route 72 reopened after police closed off the area as the Bristol Police Department's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, or START, responded to the scene.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact START at 860-584-3038.
