Dream Ride Experience gears up for 24th year at Farmington Polo Club

The charity drive will be held in Farmington on Aug. 23-25.

FARMINGTON, Connecticut — The Dream Ride Experience charity drive is gearing up for its 24th year at the Farmington Polo Club.

The Hometown Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Cheshire-based Bozzuto’s Inc., is behind the massive car show that is spread across 100 acres and serves organizations from the Special Olympics and Dog Star Rescue.

Michael Bozzuto began the Dream Ride Experience almost a quarter century ago.

"We’ve got every super car there is," Bozzuto said. “Dream Ride is the culmination of a whole years’ worth of efforts between us. There are people from around the world, as far away as Australia, we have seven countries this year and 42 states I believe.”

Among the major events is the Dream Cruise, which takes around 600 athletes, many of whom are intellectually challenged, on a 14-mile ride in an exotic car.

Bozzuto said, “someone will take a Dreamrider for a ride and they will be involved in their life from then on.”

Back for his 10th Dream Ride is Bryce Atkas, the owner of ACI Dynamix, which is a one stop high end car shop in Seymour that specializes in servicing and souping up dream cars. Atkas said he and his team plan to bring around 10 cars to the show this weekend.

“This is for all the kids,” said Atkas, “it’s to raise money for the foundations but more importantly give them an experience they will never forget.”

Standing by his stunning special edition Land Rover, Bozzuto added, “[The weekend is] definitely magic, I don’t know how else to put it and it’s an experience.”
