Suspect in shooting that killed two teens arrested: Hartford police

The suspect was arrested in connection to a fatal double shooting on Hendricxsen Ave. in May.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A Plainville man has been arrested in connection to a double shooting that killed two teens earlier this month.

James Chaney, 25, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder and reckless endangerment in connection to the shooting deaths of Lavante Brown, 19, of Hartford and Aydin Davis, 16, of Bloomfield. The U.S. Marshals assisted Hartford police with the arrest.

On the night of May 4, Hartord police were called to a home on Hendricxsen Ave., where two teens were found suffering from gunshot wounds near the stairwell. Brown and Davis were taken to an area hospital, where they later died.

Chaney is being held on a $1 million bond.
