HARTFORD, Conn. — A man and a woman were killed after a car crash Sunday night in Hartford, police said.
Officers responded to the area of 1200 Park Street just before 8:30 p.m. after a report of a serious single-vehicle crash. When they arrived, the officers found a red Cadillac XT5 upside down.
A preliminary investigation found the car had struck a light pole, a fence, a transformer, and a concrete pole and wall.
The man, who was the driver, and the female passenger suffered “catastrophic” injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police identified them as Kevin McCrorey, 44, and Emily Echevarria, 34, both of Hartford.
Additional information about what led to the crash was not immediately available. The crash remains under investigation by the Hartford Police Crime Scene Division.
