HARTFORD, Conn. — A New Britain man is charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting in Hartford, police said.
The shooting happened on Dec. 23, 2023, in Hartford. Police said they were called to an apartment building on Franklin Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. on the report of a shooting with someone struck.
When police got to the scene, they found 32-year-old Christian Lopez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Lopez was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions began their investigation and eventually identified 35-year-old Joshua Duprey as the suspect and got a warrant for his arrest, charging him with murder and criminal possession of a firearm.
On Monday, members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Hartford Police Violent Crime Unit found Duprey in New Britain and took him into custody without incident.
Duprey was held on a $1 million bond.
