Hartford police investigate 'suspicious' death in apartment, victim identified

Police call the victim's death "suspicious" and are treating the investigation as a homicide at this time.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police are investigating after a man was found dead in an apartment on Friday morning.

Officers responded to an apartment on the 100 block of Wethersfield Avenue just before 10 a.m., where responders found a man with "trauma-related injuries." The man, identified by police Saturday as Andrew Gunn, 57, was pronounced dead in the apartment.

The injury Gunn suffered was a gunshot wound, according to police.

Police believe Gunn died overnight Friday. Police call his death "suspicious" and are treating the investigation as a homicide at this time.

The Chief Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the cause and time of Gunn's death.
