HARTFORD, Conn — Hartford police said Thursday afternoon that they were investigating a homicide involving shots fired.
Officers went to the area of Florence Street at 1:13 p.m. for a report of shots fired and a person down.
Police said they found an unresponsive man, identified as Chevoyia Rivers, 30, of Manchester, who was injured in the shooting.
First responders attempted life-saving measures until an EMS arrived and brought Rivers to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions assumed the investigation, police said.
Investigators believe that there was a dispute before shots were fired.
