HARTFORD, Conn. — A New Britain man pleaded guilty Thursday in Hartford to possession of child porn, according to the Department of Justice.
Joshua Glaeser, 36, faces a mandatory minimum term of 10 years in prison and a maximum term of 20 years in prison, the DOJ said. Law enforcement has detained him since Dec. 9, 2022.
Glaeser was previously convicted of possession of child porn in 2012 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended after two years, followed by 10 years of probation, which the DOJ said he was currently serving.
In the summer of 2022, a Connecticut State Police detective investigating child exploitation crimes learned that an individual was using an IP address, originating from Glaeser's home in New Britain, to distribute child porn, according to the DOJ.
Using a search warrant, Homeland Security Investigations special agents went into Glaeser's home on Dec. 9, 2022, and seized evidence including "his Chromebook, tablet, smartphone and storage cards," the DOJ said.
Investigators found more than than 3,000 images and videos of child porn on the devices, including images showing "the sexual abuse of children, including infants and toddlers," according to the DOJ.
Glaeser also allegedly distributed the child porn to other people through a file sharing network.
HSI and the Connecticut State Police are leading the investigation, the DOJ said.
