HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford’s “premier nightclub” has reopened in its downtown location on Ann Uccello Street.
Formerly known as “The Russian Lady,” and now simply as “The Lady,” the nightclub offers patrons cocktails, music, and events. Under a new name and new ownership, the business reopened on Friday evening.
“Our signature cocktail list is sure to please even the most discerning taste buds. Whether you’re looking to dance the night away or relax with a drink, The Lady is the perfect destination,” the nightclub’s website reads.
The venue features three floors, four bars and a seasonal rooftop lounge. The Lady will be open on Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., on Fridays from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., and on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
JCH Entertainment LLC now owns the business. The group is controlled by Jonathan C. Heggenhougen of South Windsor.
Last November, the Russian Lady voluntarily shut down following a fight between security guards and a patron, which made headlines when a video surfaced showing the assault. It reopened briefly but closed after a shooting occurred outside the business in December when a fight spilled out of the club onto the street.
While closed, the bar underwent extensive renovations, including a new stage, lights, and a sound system.
The new owner said the re-design is all about turning a new leaf and making customers feel at ease.
