LIFE STAR called to fire at Simsbury home for burn victim

The Simsbury Fire Marshal's Office, State Fire Marshal's Office and Simsbury police are investigating the incident.

SIMSBURY, Conn — A LIFE STAR helicopter brought one person to the hospital after a structure fire in Simsbury Tuesday, according to the town's police department.

At 4:40 p.m., police said emergency crews from Simsbury, Avon and Canton responded to Quorn Hunt Road for a fire at a home that left one person injured.

Neighbors and first responders attended to the burn victim, according to police. An ambulance and LIFE STAR helicopter brought them to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Their condition is currently unknown.

The burn victim was not a resident of the home, according to police.

Fire crews knocked down the fire that was contained to a two-car garage and car parked in the driveway, police said. There was no smoke damage inside the home.

The Simsbury Fire Marshal's Office, State Fire Marshal's Office and Simsbury Police are investigating the incident.
