Investigators who arrived at the scene of the collision learned that one of the vehicles, driven by Porscha Williams, 34, of Norwich, had been traveling west on Highland Street when it crashed head-on with the other car that had been going east along the same street, according to police.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
Williams was taken to Hartford Hospital where she later died from her injuries, police said.
The second driver, a 32-year-old woman, had non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
