SIMSBURY, Conn — A car crashed into a telephone pole and then a house in Simsbury early Sunday, town officials said.
Jason Gilbert, assistant fire chief of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company, said they responded alongside the town's police department and volunteer ambulance association to Bushy Hill and Climax roads at 12:50 a.m. after receiving a report of the crash.
The electric company, Eversource, also arrived to assist with utility repairs while the road was closed.

A car hit a telephone pole and then a residence on the corner of the intersection, Gilbert said. The only person inside the car at the time was taken to a hospital and was later released.
A building official from the town of Simsbury was also called to evaluate the home, according to Gilbert.
The car has since been removed from a wooded area and the fire department said they remained at the scene until 3:30 a.m. to help Eversource with road closures.
Route 167, between Fernwood Road and Old Meadow Road, was closed throughout Sunday morning while crews fixed the damage from the crash.
Police said in the evening that the road was reopened, but that the traffic light at the intersection is not working. Drivers are asked to recognize the temporary stop signs until the light is fixed.
