NEW MILFORD, Conn. — A man arrested on child porn charges was sentenced to 30 years in prison, suspended after 18 years with 20 years of probation, officials said Tuesday.
According to authorities, Michael Almeida, 29, of New Milford plead guilty to two counts of possessing child porn in the first degree and two counts of accessory to employing a minor in obscene performance. He was sentenced on May 9.
New Milford officers received a report on July 2, 2022 from the Internet Crimes Against Children's Taskforce about a town resident possibly in possession of child porn.
An investigation involving multiple search and seizure warrants found child porn on devices owned by Almeida, and that another person and a minor were involved, police said. According to judicial branch records, he was arrested on July 3, 2022.
