TORRINGTON, Conn. — A man and his three-year-old daughter were hurt in a Torrington crash Sunday morning, the town's police department said.
Emergency crews, including Torrington's police and fire departments, Trinity Ambulance and Winsted Ambulance, went to the area of 2540 Norfolk Road around 11:43 a.m. after receiving a report of a car that had gone off-road and into a ditch.
Police said a Ford F150 pickup truck was found 20 feet below the roadway, facing upright in the Hart Brook spillway with heavy damage to the front end.
A 41-year-old man was found outside the truck with "serious, but non-life-threatening injuries" and was taken by a Life Star helicopter to a hospital, according to police. His 3-year-old daughter was located inside the truck in a child safety seat and was taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The pickup truck was eventually removed from the spillway by a heavy wrecker crew from Merli Automotive.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked by police to contact Ofc. Lorrius, badge 067, at 860-489-2000.
