WOODBURY, Conn. — A pastor accused of selling crystal meth out of a Woodbury church is now facing additional charges.
State police re-arrested Herbert Miller on a court-approved warrant after he missed a court date following his arrest on Feb. 12.
According to officials, Miller was initially investigated after allegations surfaced he was selling crystal meth from the United Methodist Church in Woodbury, of which he's a pastor.
Miller was charged after he went to a purported drug deal set up by a cooperating witness, according to the Republican American.
State police found Miller in possession of crystal meth in a rock form and a liquified form in a hypodermic needle.
Miller was arrested and charged, eventually released on a $10,000 bail. He was set to appear in court on Feb. 23 but failed to appear.
Last week, Waterbury Superior Court confirmed to state police that Miller had an active warrant for his re-arrest due to his failure to appear and notified the resident state trooper's office.
Police then saw Miller riding in the passenger seat of a U-Haul truck driving east on Main Street North in Woodbury in the direction of his residence on the grounds of the church.
Officers followed Miller into his driveway and placed him under arrest for first-degree failure to appear. He was given a court date of Tuesday and held on a $100,000 bond.
