VERNON, Conn. — A man arrested on Thursday in Vernon was allegedly found with 118 bags of suspected fentanyl, approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine and 5.53 grams of fentanyl-laced marijuana.
Jarvis Chambers, 39, was arrested at the Valero Gas Station at 506 Talcottville Road following a lengthy investigation, according to Manchester Police Lt. Richard Monge, who is also a lieutenant for the East Central Narcotics Task Force.
Members of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Vernon Police Department and ECNTF served two arrest warrants and two search warrants for Chambers at the gas station, Monge said. After Chambers arrived there in a vehicle, he allegedly tried to escape before refusing to exit his vehicle.
Eventually, Chambers was taken into custody and arrested, Monge said, noting that law enforcement found the suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine and fentanyl-laced marijuana when searching him and vehicle.
Chambers faces multiple charges, including two counts of possession with intent to sell narcotics and single counts of operation of a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering/resisting.
In connection to an arrest warrant, Chambers was also charged with possession of narcotics and sale of narcotics, Monge said. He was held on a $400,000 bond.
