CROMWELL, Conn. — Cromwell police arrested the town's public health coordinator on Oct. 31 on multiple charges, including sexual assault in the fourth degree, the Office of the Town Manager said Monday.
According to Connecticut law, sexual assault in the fourth degree is “a class A misdemeanor or, if the victim of the offense is under sixteen years of age, a class D felony."
Salvatore Nesci, 55, turned himself into Cromwell police on the sexual assault in the fourth degree charge and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on Nov. 12.
According to the Town of Cromwell, a complaint led to Nesci's arrest along with an internal administrative investigation by the town manager.
Nesci is on administrative leave until further notice.
