WESTBROOK, Conn. — A Madison man is dead after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95, state police said.
The crash happened Wednesday just after 8 p.m. According to officials, a Mustang GT driven by 47-year-old Mark Palumbo was traveling on the southbound side of the highway, between exits 66 and 65 in Westbrook.
Meanwhile, a Cadillac ATS Luxury was driving northbound in the southbound lanes between the same area.
State police said the two collided and Palumbo was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.
The driver of the Cadillac was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for mediation attention.
Officials said the crash is still under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to call Trooper Sorsor at Troop F, 860-399-2100.
