EAST HAVEN, Conn. — A New Haven man has been arrested for being part of a home invasion last month to try to steal a "high dollar value" cat.
East Haven police arrested William Pagan, 23, in connection to a March 17 home invasion on Thompson Street, officials said Tuesday.
Pagan and another suspect broke into the home to search for the resident's valuable cat. Someone was home and fought off the suspects, who left the scene in a blue BMW after they failed to find the cat, police said. The BMW has since been found and processed for evidence, police said.
No one was injured, according to police. Police said this was a targeted incident and the people involved know each other.
Pagan was charged with home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, threatening, unlawful restraint and larceny. He was held on a $750,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
