The victim, Priyanshu Agwal, 23, was on a scooter when he was hit by a driver at the intersection who then took off, police previously said.

Witnesses had told officers that the vehicle had been going west and the scooter was going east when they collided.

After an extensive investigation, police said they obtained an arrest warrant for Augelli.

Police said more information is expected at a conference Monday.
