NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven Police are investigating a robbery at the Webster Bank at 894 Whalley Avenue, according to Public Information Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police Department.
Police report the bank robbery happened on Thursday around 3:28 p.m., when an unidentified man entered the bank and passed a note to the cashier, demanding money from the register. The note allegedly stated the suspect was in possession of a gun.
Officer Bruckhart said the suspect was handed money, before he ran off and got away in a vehicle parked near the bank. No one was injured during the robbery.
Detectives from the Investigative Services Division and Bureau of Identification arrived at the bank to investigate further.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who might have valuable information for investigators to call detectives at 203-946-6304 or contact the department’s anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
