NORTH HAVEN, Conn. — North Haven police said they arrested a child caretaker on a sexual assault charge Friday after a parent complaint prompted an investigation with DCF.
Helen Leah Ferriolo, 40, of Wallingford, is facing four counts of risk of injury to a child, three counts of unlawful restraint in the second degree and sexual assault in the fourth degree.
In late August, a concerned parent reported Ferriolo to officers, noting her "lewd behavior" while working as a babysitter and nanny for their children in July, police said.
North Haven detectives worked with the DCF during an investigation into the complaint, including interviews with involved adults and interviews with minors, police said.
Ferriolo was arrested on Friday after police believed there was probable cause for her arrest and obtained a warrant.
