WALLINGFORD, Conn. — A driver was killed in a crash on Interstate 91 south in Wallingford after hitting a guardrail and then going into an embankment, Connecticut State Police said.
State police said they responded to the crash at 1:19 a.m. Based on preliminary information, they determined that a Honda S2000 had been traveling along the highway one mile north of exit 13.
For an unknown reason, the car hit a the wire rope guardrail on the right shoulder and then went down the grass embankment on the roadside, state police said.
The driver, identified as Christopher Cutler, 41, of Wallingford, was taken to a local hospital and died of his injuries from the crash.
