6-year-old seriously injured after being hit by school bus in Waterbury

The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating, police said.

WATERBURY, Conn. — A school bus hit a six-year-old in Waterbury Thursday, according to the city's police department.

Police said the collision happened at 4:10 p.m. in the area of Garden Hill Circle in the roadway.

The six-year-old boy was seriously injured in the crash, according to police.

Emergency officials first brought him to Saint Mary's Hospital before transferring him to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford with serious injuries.

The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision, police said.
