WATERBURY, Conn. — A man was arrested Monday in connection to graffiti and tires that were slashed at two businesses in Waterbury, the city's police department said.
Erik Cruz, 53, of Waterbury, is facing charges of criminal mischief in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. He was also given a violation of probation warrant during the arrest and appeared in court on Tuesday.
Cruz was identified as a suspect during an investigation into the incidents between the dates of May 17-20, according to police. The locations for both are currently unknown.
More arrests are anticipated as additional cases of vandalism within the same dates at other businesses involving graffiti and slashing of tires are being investigated, police said.
Cruz remains in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections on a $50,000 bond, police said.
