WEST HAVEN, Conn. — A New Haven man has been charged in Sunday's murder of a West Haven man according to police.
On Sunday at 2:07 a.m., West Haven police officers were called to a shooting on Campbell Avenue. When they arrived, officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. He is identified by police as Hector Dominguez, 44, of West Haven.
A crime scene was established and our Detective Division assumed the investigation.
On Monday, police said they were able to identify the suspect as Eric Johnson, 32, of New Haven, and with the assistance of the New Haven Police Department, he was taken into custody.
Johnson is charged with Murder and Unlawful Discharge of a weapon. Johnson was held on $2,000,000 bond.
