WEST HAVEN, Conn. — West Haven police cleared Notre Dame High School on Tuesday after an unfounded threat about an armed suspect in the school was reported.
Police said that at 2:21 p.m. on Tuesday, officers received a report about a possible threat at the school, made by an individual through a VA crisis center chat service.
The threat claimed that an armed person was inside the high school with a weapon and "planned on causing harm," according to police.
Notre Dame High School immediately went into lockdown as police said they responded and closed off the area.
Officers searched the school and didn't find any threats, according to police. The school later resumed normal after school activities.
The West Haven Police Department's Detective Division is investigating.
