WEST HAVEN, Conn. — Interstate 95 north in West Haven was reopened Sunday morning after a crash left one person seriously injured, according to Connecticut State Police.
According to an alert from the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the highway was closed between exits 42 and 43 because of the crash.
Based on preliminary information, state police said troopers were called at 3:47 a.m. to exit 43 on the highway for a collision. As of 9:50 a.m., they have since cleared the scene.
One person was taken to the hospital for serious injuries, according to state police.
Light poles were taken down as a result of the collision, state police said. The cause of the crash and how many vehicles were involved is currently unknown.
