OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. — A Bristol man was arrested in an Old Saybrook road rage incident which happened while he had children in his car, according to police.
Dejon Robinson, 30, of Bristol, was charged with Risk of Injury to a Minor (3 counts), Breach of Peace 2nd Degree (4 counts), Threatening 1st Degree with a Firearm (4 counts) and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree (4 counts).
Police said on Thursday at 6:20 p.m., troopers were dispatched for a reported road rage incident on I-95 southbound in Old Saybrook, in which the suspect allegedly displayed a gun. The victims reported repeated brake-checking and abrupt lane changes from the suspect's vehicle. The driver reported that the suspect's vehicle then pulled alongside them on the left side, at which point they observed the driver pointing a gun towards them through the open passenger side window.
The victim were able to report identifying information of the suspect, including the vehicle description, license plate, and a description of the gun he was holding.
The suspect left Interstate 95 and entered Rt. 9 where state troopers located the accused's vehicle. Robinson was positively identified as the suspect by the victim's statements.
A gun matching the description from the victims also found in Robinson's vehicle. The gun was registered to Robinson. Robinson had passengers in his own vehicle, which included children.
Robinson was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on July 2.
