Motorcyclist killed in crash: Groton City police

The 55-year-old man operating the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

GROTON, Conn. — A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Groton late Friday night.

Groton City police responded to Poquonnock Road at around 11:30 p.m., where they found a motorcyclist with serious injuries from a crash.

The 55-year-old man operating the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Police units from Ledyard, Stonington and the Town of Groton assisted with the investigation.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and police are asking the public to help if they have information to share.

"Groton City Police stress that citizen cooperation is critical to a successful community partnership aimed at keeping our community safe," Groton police said.
